Sharon Yvonne Stone was born on the 10th of March, 1958, in Meadville, Pennsylvania, to the accountant Dorothy Lawson and tool and die maker and former factory worker Joseph William Stone II. Michael, Kelly and Patrick are her siblings. Stone was considered to be exceptionally gifted in her academics when she entered two grades when she was five. In 1975 she was a graduate of Saegertown high school in Saegertown (Pennsylvania). A winner of Miss Crawford County, she took part in the Miss Pennsylvania Beauty Pageant. Stone moved into New Jersey in 1977 with her aunt, to take on a job as models. In just a few months, she signed up with Ford Modeling Agency. Then, she relocated back to Europe and spent the whole year in Milan and Paris. Stone but was dissatisfied with Europe by the fashion business and decided to move into acting. She appeared at 20 in Woody Allen's "Stardust Memories," the film which got mixed reviews.
